  2. Brittany, David and Renee,
Sorry, I’ve been a little out of the loop down here in TX. Just heard about Brittany’s journey today… My heart breaks that you all are having to take this road, but reading the blog makes my heart swell and my faith grow even stronger. God led you to instill such a strong faith in your daughter because he knew the road she would travel, and how else do you make it down such a bumpy road, but by faith? As Max Lucado said, God has not only read your story, He wrote it. We attend the church that Max is a pastor at and he is doing a wonderful series right now called “You’ll get through this”. Though your faith is strong, I know there are times (when you’re not blogging) that you question… it’s human nature, I encourage you to go to our churches website http://www.oakhillschurch.com, all of Max’s sermons from this series are on there. They are truly wonderful and will encourage you when you need it. You have done such a wonderful job raising your girls. Brittany, you are such a beautiful, strong and Godly woman. We miss you guys and wish we were still there to support you, but please know we are praying for you and your family from down here in San Antonio! We will be in Stillwater in May for graduation… I would love to get together with you. Hugs from the Gonzales family! Mary, Jimmy, Mya (Danica and Lea too!)

Today will always be remembered as one of the most important days of our lives. As we hung on every word the doctor shared today it was truly overwhelming to hear him share the test results. Hearing that the chemo had worked and from all indications you were clear from cancer was a blessing beyond measure. Over the past several months we have cried, worried, struggled with seeing you carry this burden and prayed for Gods grace and mercy constantly. The past several days as we have waited for your results of the PET scan our faith has been tested, for me personally, perhaps more than any other time of my life. We have continued to share with each other that God has a plan in the midst of this and is revealing himself to us in many different ways. I believe a lesson for me has been the realization of how deep love can be for your children. In these circumstances you become very acutely aware of the love you have for your child and how you would do anything to remove the burden. When I think of the depth of love we have for you I am reminded that Gods love transcends this love, which is so hard to even comprehend. As you face the next few months of treatment I pray that you will continue to take GREAT confidence and peace in knowing that God has demonstrated His grace, held true to His promises, revealed His Mercy, and shared His love through so many family and friends. To God Be The Glory. Britts you are so blessed to have Christ in your heart and so many family and friends that care about you and have stood by you in this journey. I know that for me I am going to take more time to reflect on His goodness and cherish more moments with family and friends.

  4. Brittany,
That Scripture from Hebrews is my absolute favorite! In fact-I had just quoted it last time I wrote to you and I think I like it so much because of the sports analogy. The kids have benn involved in so many sports in their lives that it just works so well when you think about this wonderful/scary/magical/horrible/fantastic journey called life! We all have to “run the race that is set before us” and there are so many boulders and dips and mountains and sharp turns . . . it is so scary facing what is around the bend so as you so aptly posed the question-we have a choice to fight or fold! And we will FIGHT! Keep killing those cancer cells! God Bless-Rochelle

  5. Brittany,
Still thinking about you and praying for you! Stay strong and “run with endurance the race that is set before you, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith . . ” God Bless-Rochelle

  6. Brittany,
I just read your latest post and I can see how you can be down at times. Don’t let yourself waste time by worring. Try and keep your mind busy. We continue to pull for you. Found a good verse for you. Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgivinig, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

  7. Greetings Brittany,
I don’t think we’ve ever met but I have some history with your family. I wore shoes that your grandfather Vic sold me when I was a kid and I know your grandmother Barbara. I count your mom and dad among my friends as well. I learned about your situation by reading a letter from your grandmother to my dad who just turned 90. He was the pastor at the First Baptist Church of Trenton for a long while back a few years ago. I have just now added your name to the prayer list I keep in my prayer journal and I’m going to be praying for you. It is a joy to me to see the evidence of your faith in all that I’ve read here on this site. It brings to my mind the passage in I Peter 1:6-7 that says that sometimes God brings us into trials so that our faith can grow and shine. Looks like this Scripture is coming to life in your experience and testimony.
Tell your mom and dad and grandmother that I said, “hi”! They are special people to me.

  8. Britts,
Yesterday was a tough day and once again Mom and Dad hurt for you and want so much to remove this from you in every way. As we set and talked yesterday evening I am continually reminded about how God molds and shapes us through the challenges of our life and makes us what He wants us to be. Hebrews 11:1 tells us that “Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things unseen.” It is difficult at the present to see what God has planned for you or how He will use this experience to His glory but we can be assured that you are special to Him and that He is with you each and every moment. I pray today is a better day and that you will be renewed and encouraged by the promises of God and the many who continue to pray for your healing. We love you so very much and are going to continue to battle with you for physical healing but also that we will see His hand at work in your life. You bring such great joy to us each and every day.

  9. Britts,
I just wanted you to know how much I think of you daily, and how I wish I was able to come by and see you frequently. However, I know you are being so strong and killing this stupid thing!! 😉 My in-laws even said a prayer with me for you so we continue to pray for your well -being. My plan is to figure out a weekend soon to make the 13-14 hour short trip to see you ;), your family, and Will! Hopefully Brad can join us! I am also happy to hear about the possibility of a family trip! How fun and exciting!:) That gives you awesome incentive to feel better and definitely something to look forward too. I know that helps me too!
I hope you enjoyed you box of goodies from Sadie and I….we tried to think creatively for you. I hope to read about many more good days on this blog, and please remember we ar with you every step of the way!
    Love you,
    Megan “Schmidt” 😉 and Brad
