  1. Hey Brittany- you’re already on the right path. You’re taking this news and not only handling it, but running with it, and blessing and encouraging more people than you can imagine!!! For a few days after I heard the news, I just wanted to know the facts… and finally God spoke to me and said “you don’t need to know everything about it, I am handling it!” and He is exactly right! however, THANK YOU for posting your progress, it helps give us something ‘specific’ to pray for “Ask and it will be given”. Sorry that we haven’t kept up through the years, but WOW how everyone comes together when a friend is in need. You’re in my thoughts and prayers! May God continue to bless YOU and give you the strength needed for the journey ahead.

  2. Hey Brittany!

You have been in my thoughts and prayers pretty consistently lately and I just wanted you to know I am sending all my love your way from my little Northwest corner of Missouri.

I have so many great young memories that come to mind from when we were little brats running around and making up dance routines at our mom’s Trenton High School get-togethers. 😉 You always seem to pass through my mind and make me smile, because you were so great about always making me feel included– even though I’m sure I was the annoying “younger” tag-along! Haha.

When we were younger I always thought you were SO cool and SO gorgeous… well I guess some things never change, and they never will 🙂

You are such an amazing person, and I know that God will be by your side every step of the way through this journey. I’m lucky to know such a strong, beautiful woman– on the inside and out.

Love always, prayers, and God’s peace!!

  3. I must admit that this all is a little difficult to read. For some of us who need the constant reminder how much life can change in an instant…and how important it is to have family and friends in our lives for support when we need it. And how we should have faith everyday. It’s hard to see you as anything but the beautiful and energetic person I have always known and love! As a parent, it’s difficult to imagine going through this with one of my children. Wish I lived closer to be part of this journey with you! Love you Britts…I pray for you every day! Stay strong!

  4. Brittany,
Reading your blog, has been such an inspiration. Over the years, I have always admired your walk with the Lord. You’ve been a great example for Caroline and I over the years. You have lots of thoughts and prayers coming your way from Maryville. Continue to have faith and lean on God in your times of trial. Someday you will look back on this time in your life, and you will have such an amazing testimony to share with others. I will continue to pray for you and your family. Love you guys so much!!

“Blessed is the on perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will recieve the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.”
    James 1:12

  6. Hi Brittany, I recently found out about your diagnosis and the positive news about the outcome with treatment. I am so sorry you are going through this unknown and stressful time, but you have your eyes set firmly on God and are leaning on Him for all understanding – thank you for sharing that Bible verse and your thoughts with your friends and family through your blog. I have always noticed that you have such a bright, sweet, and genuine spirit – what an encouragement you are to others regardless of this particular situation. What grace you have through God. Emma, Mary, Ava, Matt and I are thinking of you every day with prayers. We have a little something for you that the girls picked out, and I’ll call your mom to ask when good time will be to drop it by and say Hi. see you soon. Love from Brenda Dawes and family

  7. Brittany,
I am still a little speechless as I read this blog and talk to you on the phone, and I apologize for that. However, I am so proud to call you my friend because you are such a brave, strong person! I can’t believe your courage. 🙂 I want you to know that I am thinking of you all the time, and if I didn’t live as far away, I would have been there already to see you. I am going to come down to visit you the first chance I get, when it is not snowing and bad weather. I hope you continue to fight this with strength and know that you have soooo many friends in so many places fighting with you. Please let me know if there is anything we can do in Iowa for you. Brad wishes you luck and strength too! Hang in there Swank family and Will! Love you all!! We will continue our prayers.

  9. Britts,
Today is Saturday your third day after your first Chemo treatment. Dad wants you to know how very proud of you I am. You are an inspiration to us by how you have dealt with the sickness, anxiety and pain. It is my prayer that each time you will have more resistance to the side affects of Chemo. God has been good as you have had to deal with so many challenges beyond your treatments, but we have continued to see His hand and path for your recovery. Today is another hurdle as we go to pick out a wig for you. You are so Beautiful on both the inside and outside that I am certain that your beauty will be revealed even without hair. The bible tells us in Psalm 16:11 “You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” Today I pray that you are filled with God’s joy and presence and know that He loves you and desires the best for you. Today WILL be a great day and we will rejoice and be glad in it because it is the day that HE has made. Love you so very much.
